Key Stage 4

At Key Stage 4 all pupils study English, Maths, RE and Science. Pupils have access to a wide range of general and applied subjects, which help prepare them for further study at Key Stage 5 or the world of life and work. The careers department offers each young person guidance and support to enable them to make well-informed choices based on their strengths, ability and career path. Students choose a number of subjects from the following options:

 English Literature  Home Economics
 Art  Performing Arts
 French  Physical Education
Irish  Learning for Life and Work
 History  Agriculture
 Geography  Occupational Studies
 Information Technology  Motor Vehicle Studies
 Construction  Business Studies
Technology and Design  Leisure and Tourism
Child Development

Pupils at Key Stage 4 benefit from a mentoring system. This one to one contact with a teacher encourages them to focus on their goals and reflect honestly on their progress. Pupils are encouraged to have high expectations and strive for the best grade possible in each of their subjects.
