I hope your child has had a happy and restful summer and that they are looking forward to the school year ahead.
We will be operating a phased return to school in September, in order to, assist the Year 8 students making the transition to secondary level education. On Friday 1st September Year 8 will be in school. On Monday 4th September Years 8 and 12 will attend the college. From Tuesday 5th September full attendance is expected from all year groups.
Please remind your children that in the interests of child protection they should not have mobile phones switched on during the school day. If they are they will be confiscated. Parents will have to make arrangements to collect the phone directly from the school office the following day. A booklet of pastoral information outlining the school discipline, attendance and child protection code will be sent home to all parents during the first week of school. Please read the booklet carefully and fill in and return the medical, photographs and acceptable use of the internet forms.
We would like to reinforce as the new academic year begins the importance of school uniform. The uniform gives our pupils a distinct identity and it is important that it is neat, tidy and presentable at all times. All parents and students should note that the school blazer is a compulsory element of school uniform and that trainers are not acceptable footwear. We would ask as the winter approaches that pupils either wear the school half-zip, or a plain, dark navy coat. The wearing of make-up is prohibited and we would ask for your assistance in reinforcing this school rule.
As we have children in school with severe nut allergies I would ask you to ensure that any food that children take into school for break or lunch time does not contain nut or traces of nut.
Thank you for your continued support and co-operation,
