Assessment & Reporting

  • One of the main ways in which a pupil’s progress is measured each year is through continuous assessment. This means that homework, class work, independent project work and class test results are taken into consideration, creating a picture of how each pupil is progressing across curriculum areas.

  • Reporting is conducted formally in December and in June.

  • The first term report is based on continuous monitoring and records pupil progress in terms of effort, behaviour and performance.

  • The second report is based on formal assessments completed in timed conditions.

  • During the course of the school year progress reports may be generated by Form Teachers or Heads of Year. These are used to form the basis of an individual parent/ teacher meeting if it is felt a particular student is under- achieving.

  • In Year 12 written reports are based on the results of mock examinations held in January.

  • Parents are welcome to visit the College as we operate an ‘Open Door Policy’.
