Regular attendance at school has a positive impact on pupil attainment. As a result we closely monitor the attendance of all our pupils. On returning to school, pupils are requested to produce a note from parents in their homework diary. Form Teachers then validate their absence and record it on the SIMS system. If a pupil is absent from school for more than three consecutive days a Form Teacher or Head of Year will contact the parents to establish the reason for the pupil’s absence.
Heads of Year and Senior Managers monitor pupil attendance records. They work closely with Form Teachers and the Education Welfare Officer (EWO), so that patterns are identified and areas of concerns are highlighted.
Punctuality is a high priority and all pupils are expected to be in the school on time.
