School Ethos

“There was a time when you were darkness, but
now you are light in the Lord. Well, then, live as
children of light. Light produces every kind of
goodness and justice and truth.”
[St. Paul to the Ephesians. 5: 8-9]

Caring, Co-operating, Challenging

The mission statement of our school emphasises our commitment to creating a warm, welcoming environment where pupils feel confident in their ability to learn, achieve and make progress. We have high expectations of all our pupils and believe in challenging them so that they achieve their full potential. The life of Jesus Christ and the teaching of St. Paul, after whom the school is named, inspire the core values of our school. In order to help pupils develop these values we are committed to creating in St. Paul’s a faith community that actively promotes, develops and extends the spiritual and moral development of the young people in our care.

We want our pupils to develop:

  • Respect for themselves, each other and the environment
  • A sense of justice, honesty and truth
  • Tolerance and understanding
  • Community spirit and a social conscience
  • Empathy and compassion for others

“The body is one and has many members, but all the members, many
though they are, are one body; and so it is with Christ. It was in one
Spirit that all of us, whether Jew or Greek, slave or free, were baptized
into one body. All of us have been given to drink of the one Spirit.”
[1 Corinthians. 12: 12-13]
